FRANCE
Geoff and Annette Cawston would value prayer for the church in Angers. Local authorities have asked them to move out of their current building to make way for new developments, but as yet they have not been able to find a suitable alternative. Consequently they do not know where they will be meeting after 21st September. Pray for a solution to this problem. They expect to meet in homes or in a hotel for the time being. 31/8
David and Brigitte Sutherland are involved in a two-week camp this month. David will lead the children’s ministries and Brigitte will be cooking for over 160 people. Pray for renewed strength, as they are both feeling quite tired at present. 2/8
David and Brigitte would value prayer for a baptism service on Sunday 29th August, when their own daughter Méryl will be baptised along with one or two others. 23/8
Graham and Alison Black request prayer for a man called Damien whom they have contacted through their correspondence course work with prisoners. Damien is a believer and hopes to be released from prison soon. Pray for Graham and Alison as they liaise with other Christian organisations to try and find work and lodgings for him, so that he can start a new life. 6/9
Christian and Catherine Moreau have recently returned from a Christian family camp and were encouraged that several folk made decisions for the Lord. Pray for these young people and for many others who received counselling. 6/9
Hannah Coombes plans to travel to the Middle East on Friday to visit family and encourage local Christians. She will be away for three weeks. Pray for health and strength during the trip, and for good opportunities among her contacts. 23/8
Jonathan Hanley asks us to pray for the Bible training session for young adults being held all this week at the St Lunaire camp. Several adult children of Echoes workers in France will be taking part. The teaching is on various subjects, ranging from the ethical implications of money to the person of the Holy Spirit. Jonathan will be one of the three speakers. 23/8
National workers Christophe and Katherine Savage will be holding their annual giant barbecue event in Lille from 24th to 28th August. Pray that they will have enough team members and that good contacts will be made through this outreach. 23/8

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
David Stevens asks for prayer as he begins the Bible Explorer work in the schools again next month. Two young women have asked to be trained as Bible Explorer teachers and will accompany him for some of the lessons in October. Pray that the local primary school will be sympathetic to this, and pray for Michaela and Eveline as they learn the 76 handsigns and keywords in preparation. 23/8

Colin Sheldon begins visiting primary schools again this week to offer the Bible Explorer lessons. Pray for new openings in this work. He hopes to start the first round of classes by the middle of the month. 6/9
Give thanks that Penny DeFouw’s surgery went well and she was discharged from hospital last Friday. Her vision is blurred at present but should improve with time. 16/8
ITALY
Regin and Heidi Guttesen would value prayer for their fellowship as they move into the second phase of their church plant. A building has been found for the new church in the centre of Pietracatella. It belongs to a lawyer friend who is prepared to rent it to them at a low price. Pray that all the legal and practical matters will work out satisfactorily. 16/8
Alec and Patrizia Catchpole ask us to pray for Aniello, a 72 year-old man in their fellowship who has just been diagnosed with cancer. The family have been told that he only has three months to live. Pray that the Lord will sustain them during this difficult time. 16/8
NORWAY
Margaret Hewitt has asked us to pray for her Sunday school work, which she hopes to start up again in September. She mentions that she needs to find suitable workmen to carry out repairs on the hall. Prayer is also requested for Russian national worker Karim Mynbaev, whose only son Artjom is very ill and in hospital. 31/8
SPAIN
Ken Barrett recently set up and took part in a couple of audio interviews for the Spanish Protestant news agency web page, with interviewer Beatriz Garrido. Please pray that these interviews will stimulate missionary interest and provide other media contacts. August is a month when the media find space available which they may not offer at other times of the year. 23/8
Ken and Alison Barrett request prayer for Ken’s visit to the OM ship ‘Logos Hope’ in the Canaries until 13th September. Please pray that many will be stirred to pray for Spain and that some would be called as workers. Pray for the evangelistic outreach in Las Palmas on Gran Canaria during this week, for unity among the churches and effective witness for Christ. Pray, too, that Alison’s Monday night English language discussion group will create interest in the gospel. 6/9
Tim Glasscock is devoting this month to writing his share of the Scripture Union Bible reading notes for the coming year, and preparing materials for the Project Ephesus Bible Study programme. Pray for the Lord’s help in these important tasks. Prayer is requested for an immigrant family in Salamanca. The husband, who was from Turkey, was killed in a road accident recently. Pray for his Bulgarian wife Asya and their ten year-old daughter Bibosh. 16/8
