India
Location: Kollegal Girls Home and Bird Memorial High School
Life changing opportunities await single females or married couples, who will enjoy teaching/helping the girls (age range 5-17 yrs) in the Kollegal Girls' Home and/or Bird Memorial High School in South India (750 boys and girls) ... just 140km southwest of Bangalore and 60km east of Mysore. As per Indian Government policy, the children have to pursue their education in their local language (Kannada) and only when they reach Class six can they move into our English Medium School. Without a good knowledge of English their future is not bright. You do not have to be a qualified teacher to help us.
If you can help by investing a few years into the lives of these children, who come from extremely poor, marginalised backgrounds, we will be very grateful. You will discover great fulfilment as you assist the dorm mothers and pass on study skills to the girls, uncover and develop their latent skills, train, counsel and encourage the children in many aspects of their precious formative years. You will find endless ways to exercise your creative skills.
Whatever it is "in your hand", the Lord can use it. Seeking to be a faithful disciple of our Lord Jesus is an essential "qualification".
